Rescue Me ID: 15-09-03-00120Django (courtesy) (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

Django loves to play and will growl/bark in a cute manner while playing (tug, keep away, fetch, etc) but stays quite otherwise. He isn't a barker. Django loves and has gotten along with everyone he has met! Occasionally he gets over excited and may jump up but that is rare and typically only happens if he hasn't been played with or walked in awhile. He likes to lick and show affection, and loves to go for walks, and play and socialize with other dogs. He acts much like a boxer would - so he is 'jumpy' and likes to paw. Django has been around 5 cats to date. He tends to mostly ignore them. When he doesn't ignore them he attempts to ... (Read More)smell/lick them and occasionally want to play with them as a puppy would. He knows all of your typical commands (sit, lay down, down, paw, stay, come, etc.) and could easily learn more tricks if you desire to teach him. Django was recently diagnosed with AutoImmune PolyArthritis , and needs a home with someone who would be able to take care of his medical needs, which is mostly just giving him pills. Please consider giving Django a great place! If you would like to meet Django, please contact Josh Dobbins at thedobbins@gmail.com. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Whitey, and I'm in desperate need of rescue - going on 5 months at the shelter now! I am currently in Missouri, but the kind lady who is helping me get out of the shelter is able to arrange transportation for me to Colorado! She also has a sponsor lined up who will pay for my vaccinations and heart-worm test. Some people have such huge hearts! She also describes me as a doll baby and extremely sweet. I am practically non-reactive to the other dogs walking through the shelter, so I am good with dogs too. Please call 314-769-4545 and help me get out of the shelter and into my forever home.

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Sweetwater's short story: Brought home as an adorable puppy, he grew up outside, in the company of an old dog, sleeping in a culvert in bad weather, or basking on the porch on sunny days. When he failed to teach himself how to herd cattle, he was given up. Sweetwater is still adorable, and very smart, affectionate, and sweet-tempered. Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Nala and my foster Mom says my brown and red coloring is beautiful. I am only 10 months old, but I am a well-behaved pup. I get along great with the other dogs at my foster home. I absolutely love children and am friendly with everyone I meet. I love taking long walks and frolicking in the lake. My favorite toys are bones and ropes and am very playful and respectful while playing. My foster Mom is teaching me to sit and I do come on command as well. I will need reminded of my training since I am still a young puppy. I can't wait to meet the family that will love me and let me grow up in their home. If you would like to meet me, ... Rescue Me ID: 15-08-15-00661Gizmo (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Gizmo, a gentle cutie who loves following my people around wherever they go, although I am extremely frightened of new people, and need time to warm up. My foster Mom has plans to work with me on social skills so I can overcome my fearfulness, but says that in spite of my fear, I'm just the sweetest little guy. I like being held, and giving kisses, and if I get frightened, I just hang on for dear life! The fast movements of children might frighten me, so I think it is best that I am adopted into a home without children. I like most dogs and enjoy playing, but prefer to eat without other dogs near me. I will sit up and beg for treats, ... (Read More)and always take them very gently - I especially enjoy antlers. I'm not sure what my foster Mom thinks of it, but my cute trick is taking a bath in my water bowl! I had an opportunity to bath in a larger venue recently when we went for a trip to the lake, which I absolutely loved! I know the commands Come, and Sit, and I will bark for a short time if left behind in my kennel. I'm not destructive at all, but I do have a mild case of separation anxiety. I enjoy being brushed gently with a soft brush, and really need a gentle touch with all our interactions. I will also need some reinforcement on potty training and barking, and some help boosting my confidence so I can get over my fear of new people and things. A training class to build my self-esteem would be very benefical. Do you have the patience and love for a sweet little fella like me? If you would like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $175 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-15-00657Snickers (male)

Lhasa Apso Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Snickers, and according to what my foster Mom wrote on my bio form, I'm as sweet as they come. That's a far cry from what my previous people thought of me - they kept me chained in a back yard my entire life, and neglected me so severely that I had to be shaved to remove the matts that covered my body. Despite the trauma I experienced with humans, I allowed the kind ones at ARR to fuss and fawn over me, and I now understand this is how dogs are meant to be treated! I have quickly adjusted to being loved like I deserve to be, and actually don't like my fosters leaving me alone - they call this 'mild separation anxiety.' I found the good ... (Read More)life in foster care, so I guess I'm just a little worried if the good people leave, that they might not come back. When kenneled, I might bark for a short time, and when adopted, I might need a little potty training reinforcement in my new surroundings. Understandably, I'm a bit shy at first and it can take me a little while to warm up to new people. It doesn't take long for me to be your snuggle buddy though, and with a paw to your arm, I'll kindly let you know I'm looking for some attention. If you wanted to hold me all day long, I'd be down for that too, even though I'm told that isn't likely - I thought I'd throw it out there just in case! I enjoy playing with other dogs, being groomed and brushed, and going for walks on the leash. I also have a hoot running in and out of the doggie door and romping in the grass. I was recently treated to a trip to the lake where I got to go wading in the water - a first for me and hopefully not my last! I know the commands Come, Stay, and Sit, and always take treats gently. If you are looking for a sweet, fun, dog with a wonderful personality, who really wants to please his people, we might be a great match! Bearded Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Carson, and I just can't help but give you 'those puppy dog eyes!' I'm a mellow guy who loves to play with toys, and I don't bark much, unless I'm excited. I am very affectionate, so please don't take it personally if I'm a bit scared of you when we are introduced - I'm scared of everyone at first! Silly ole me! Not to worry, I warm up quickly and then I turn the lovin' on. I am motivated first and foremost by attention, and really enjoy belly rubs. Treats are a close second in the motivation department, and I am not at all fussy - my favourite kinds are... all of them! I come to a whistle when being called and know the commands Sit and ... (Read More)No. I'm also learning a new game called Fetch. My foster sister seems to love it, and I'm starting to get into it too. I try to take her frisbee away! I'm not sure I entirely understand how the game works, but I'm having fun learning! Another fun dog game I play with my foster siblings is tug of war - what a riot! My cuteness is obvious from my photos, but I'll tell you about my adorable trick I do with my foster Mom. I like to stand on my hind legs and put my front paws on her (like jumping up, but NOT jumping up). Then she backs up or walks away, and I'll walk for a bit on my hind legs! She thinks it's pretty sweet, which makes me feel so special. Foster care is amazing, and I can't wait to have my very own forever home.     I'm Bella, pleased to meet you. I am a fun-loving, super playful, people-loving girl! My life got off to a pretty rough start, but that has not stopped me from playing and still loving people! I have a bum leg, and the doctor said that somewhere along the way, my foot was broken. I was not taken to the vet, so it just healed the way it healed. The nice people at ARR were going to pay to get my problem fixed but the doctor felt that the surgery would leave me worse off. I may need a brace down the road, and I do tripod at times, but I still walk and play on it. I love to play! Did I mention that already? My foster mom feels that I am pretty ... (Read More)much house broken or at least have the potty schedule down. It only took one accident for me to learn the ropes! I'm still trying to figure out that doggy door thing - it's kind of scary! My foster mom doesn't know how I am with cats, but her guess is I would probably try to play with them, cuz you know....I love to play! She doesn't have small/ young children, but being the people-loving girl I am, I would more than likely be OK with well dog mannered children who would understand to respect my small size and all. So what ya waiting for!     Got energy? Me too! Hi, I'm Taylor, and I like to go non-stop. I love, and need, long walks or runs, and would do best with an adopter who spends lots of time outside being active. I need a large yard, and I love water! I'm very timid with strangers, and any sudden movements or noises, and then once I get to know and trust you, I am extremely sweet. I love playing in the water, and with other dogs, and I hope the cats don't mind when I bark at them - I just think it's sort of fun.     Hi, I'm Charlie! My prior owner relinquished me to a veterinary clinic and I need to find a new home stat! I'm a six month old black Lab puppy who is energetic, loyal and loving. I have a couple of manageable health conditions, diabetes and EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency), which requires a special diet. My ideal home would be a place where I could run to burn off extra energy (a fenced in yard) with quick access to a doggie door, and that is full of playful housemates! Treeing Walker Coonhound    Age: Puppy

I'm Jackie. I was found on a ranch, and that's all anyone knows about my past. My foster mom would like you to know that I have a terrific personality and disposition, which basically means, I'm sweet, playful, and affectionate. My ideal family would be active and include me in lots of outdoor pursuits that involve running and playing with squeaky toys. I love to chase cats, but I don't think you should let me do that - besides, the feline next door put me in my place with a couple of well-timed swats, so maybe that isn't exactly my cup of tea afterall. I am a bit of a brainiac, well-versed in the commands: Come, Sit, Watch Me, Kennell, Drop ... (Read More)the Ball, and Get the Ball. I am a serious cuddler, so if you have room on the couch for me, or wouldn't mind me sleeping on your bed ontop of your feet, that would be super. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

I'm Rocky, and I am serious BFF material! If you are an outdoors person and a hiker, like me, we will cover a lot of ground out there together. My foster mom says I am 10 pounds of hiking enthusiasm! I love to play with squeaky stuffed toys, and I'm great with other dogs that range between 100lb labs, to tiny puppies. I know, and quite like, my name, and I'm obedient with commands such as Come and Off. I'm not super excited about baths, but I realize it is necessary and will also put up with you brushing me if you insist. My preferred kind of affection and attention is snuggling up on the couch with my person, having a few treats, and some ... (Read More)active playtime. In fact, I am best behaved if I burn off lots of energy during the day. When I am stressed, I will politely ask for space and walk away. This is dog language for 'I would like to be alone for a while.' A behaviour specialist who met me recently suggested that for this reason, I should be in a home with children over 7 who will understand and respect this as an adult would.     I'm Bambi. I'm an easy going and sweet girl, compatible with people of all ages, and I hope to find a home where I will be loved and get lots of attention! The more belly rubs, the better! I adore my people, but do not enjoy other dogs' company so much (unless they ignore me and do their own thing). I just seem to love my people so much, I don't like to share their attention with other 4 legged family members. I am an over-all mellow girl who enjoys daily walks with my person, which is helping me get to a healthier weight. I am not a fan of cars, or getting into them, and I am a nervous passenger, but I eventually settle down. My new ... (Read More)favorite spot to sleep at night is my foster mom's leather couch. Vizsla Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm Ruby. When you hear my name, you might think of gems and jewels - well my foster Mom would tell you that my name suits me perfectly. I arrived at my foster home, sick, injured, and extremely frightened. I'm so grateful my foster family took the time and were so patient with helping me come out of my shell. Although I have a long way to go, I have grown so much in the time I have been here, and I'm finally learning that it's okay to play, and that people come back after they leave. I am quite shy at first (with people and dogs), but once I get to know you and bond with you, I'll love you to pieces - velcro style! My foster Mom would also ... (Read More)like you to know that I am a sweet, gentle, goofy, vulnerable girl, who desperately wants to please my people. I love to learn and know the commands Sit, Wait, Down, and Leave It. While crated, I need the door to be left open and I don't like being left home alone. We've been working hard on reducing my separation anxiety, and my foster family can now leave me for short stints. I am a full-contact snuggler and would never turn down some good old fashioned rubbing or scratching. No area of my body is 'off limits,' but because of my healing injuries, a gentle touch is appreciated. I spend a lot of time on my back with my feet in the air, and LOVE rolling around in the grass. I'm still a puppy, and have lots of learning ahead of me about what's off limits, and what's okay. I would benefit immensely from an obedience course. My foster family has already seen my confidence grow by leaps and bounds when I have clear, gently reinforced boundaries. I'm very submissive, so gentle reinforcements are most helpful to advance my learning. Food, treats, and toys are my best motivators - here are some ideas in case you are making a list: bones, Kongs, peanut butter, and squeaky toys. Fun fact: I like to chase my toys and return them to the safety of my bed, where I sleep with them for a good part of the day! My ideal adopter will be patient, kind, loving, and up for the challenge of helping me adjust to life as a beloved pet. I need a home where someone works from home, works part-time, or has an at-home parent so I am not left alone for long periods during the day. I promise that the rewards of taking me home will multiply and grow beyond your wildest dreams. If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! Pit Bull Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Princess! I'm a 'pocket pittie' with an interesting rescue story: My prior owners brought me in to be euthanized...twice. One of the workers in the facility, Genelle, took me in and has tirelessly tried to find me an adoptive home. She contacted over three dozen no-kill shelters and rescues, but no luck. During our time together, my foster has discovered that I am an awesome dog who will make the right family very happy! I am house trained, leashed trained and familiar with basic commands (come, sit, stay, lay down) and even some fancy commands (spin!). My favorite snacks are meat-based. What can I say, I'm a carnivore! I ... (Read More)also enjoy sliced apples and carrots. I am loving towards all people-men, women, and children. I enjoy snuggling, chilling on the couch and, if allowed, climbing into bed with you. I have a dominant personality and prefer to be the only dog in the household. I am the quintessential Colorado dog, always up for a walk, hike or car ride! Because of my past, I do have some separation anxiety issues, but I have come along way. If you would like to learn more about me, contact Genelle and she will fill you in! Genelle can be reached at the following phone and email. Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

Ernie is a sweet, trusting, friendly, and playful little guy, but almost completely blind. (He can make out large, contrasting shapes, and detect movement.) But he has excellent hearing and a great nose. He is small enough to carry, if need be, and quite agreeable to being lifted. He is friendly to all the dogs who greet him through his kennel mesh. Ernie was chained up and abandoned, and that's about all we know of his past. Our vet says there is nothing to be done for his vision, but he is otherwise in good shape for an older guy. Ernie needs a small home, so he can figure out where everything is, a safe little corner to call his own, and ... (Read More)someone to love and care for him.     I'm Malibu. I am currently in a foster home waiting for that special person to come along and adopt me. I get along well with other dogs, but I don't like it when people bend down to my face level, and I can react unpredictably. I do have a bite history, therefore I must NOT be placed in a home with children. Do you have the love, patience, and willingness to work with me to address my problem behaviour? Rescue Me ID: 15-06-24-00012Dweezel (male)

Cairn Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Low Energy
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Dweezel, a friendly, easy-going dog, looking for a soft place to land and take it easy in my retirement. I was found stray, and although my story is unknown, I came into foster care quite sad and emotionally distant. Only a few days in, and I'm starting to feel happier already, and am engaging with my people and the other small dogs I live with. I quite enjoy other low-key dogs and tend to follow them around for company, always using good etiquette. I even like a dog companion when I go outside for potty breaks. My foster mom thinks I might be keeping tabs on the other dogs because of poor eyesight. Either way, I just really like ... (Read More)dog-company and would love to go to a home where there is another low energy senior dog like me. The cats are safe around me, and I secretly like when they lay next to me on occasion (don't tell them, I prefer if they think I'm indifferent). Sometimes I wag my tail at them, or do the odd bark so they will pay attention to me. Basically, I'm a polite gentleman with the furry felines. I'm also very respectful with visitors, mostly sniffing them and then walking around them with ease. They may certainly pet me, I would like that; but if they don't want to, that's ok too. I'm not at all needy, rather I'm quite comfortable in my own skin. If I want attention, I will simply stand by calmly and quietly -people who 'get me' will understand this body language right away. My favourite lovin' is being petted gently on the face. I am not easily rattled, I just take everything in stride. I don't bark at, nor am I afraid of, anyone or anything - not even thunderstorms. I don't hear outside noises, but do hear my name and respond to it. I have no anxiety, or toy/food/bed guarding, and am 100% trustworthy in the house when left alone with the other dogs and cats. I'm just a calm guy who likes to wander around on the main level of my foster home, chill on a pet bed, and take many cat naps through the day. Sometimes I get excited and my usual walking gait, turns into a trot - my running, playing rough, and doing tricks days are in the past. I'd prefer not to live with younger dogs or children who might jump on me (yowch!) - I'm not as spry and limber as I once was. I'm a quiet, sweet, and kind companion. I don't require walks, as I get tired and hot after about 7-10 minutes of consistent walking. Then I just stop and rest. I do better on potty break strolls when it's cooler out. My ideal owner would have patience with my slow pace, and would always be keeping a mental note on how long I've been out in hot and sunny weather, and not letting me overheat. I won't pull on the leash unless I need more time to do my business and you are trying to get me to go inside, and I never ask to go out - my foster mom just takes me outside every 4-6 hours, which is perfect. I don't do stairs, and with my poor vision, I could misstep and have a rough fall. If you want to carry me up and down, I'm game for that! My eyes have been checked by the vet, and they are a bit cloudy which is normal for a dog my age, and I am cataract free - hooray! I ride calmly in the car, tethered by harness and leash in the front passenger seat, and I've been crated as well, which I really don't prefer as it makes me a little anxious. When crated I will pant for a while, then settle in for the night. My foster mom is worried about having me sleep with her, should I fall off the bed and hurt myself. She thinks of everything!! I am on a weight gain program, and loving the delicious canned wet food and probiotics I'm getting - I'm not a fan of dry food, but I will however, gently take a treat from your hand. One of my favourite spots to chill is on my enclosed balcony, where I can while the hours away, watching kids playing, and dogs walking by, while a nice breeze tickles my fur. That is the life! Another thing I reeeeally enjoy is massage time - all the dogs here get one every morning, and I didn't waste any time jumping in and joining the rotation. Five minutes of pure bliss - plus it helps my circulation and just the fact that I'm a senior you know this will feel good! I don't have mention the fact that I'm handsome, my foster mom is quite smitten by my cute underbite. She also said I'm a doll, and as easy as they come if you are looking for a quiet, older, low key house companion and friend. I'd be ideal for a senior or person who spends a lot of time at home and seeks company. I need a companion dog, as I would be terribly lonely without a canine friend. I am on a special diet for my kidneys, thanks to ARR for finding out what is best for my health! If you would like to meet me, please fill out the online app today!     Name's Brimley and I already have a nickname - 'Buddy.' My foster mom calls me that because I'm a gentle soul who just wants to hang out with the gang. I am happiest being near my humans. I didn't waste any time making myself at home in fosterville, and they tell me I'm a mellow fellow, which I think has a nice ring to it. I am quick to warm up to new people and I love going for walks, although I need some help learning not to pull on a leash and to address my leash aggression toward strange dogs. I need to be the only pet in the home. I take my time eating meals and even when human hands are near my face, I am gentle. I'm learning basic ... I'm an awesome jumper, as demonstrated by my ability to leap tall fences in a single bound - so at least 6 feet is necessary to contain me in the yard. Boxer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Male Dogs Only, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Molly! I was rescued from a Texas shelter last fall - and have been loving my life along the front range ever since! I'm looking for a home without young children, cats or female dogs. I have shared my foster home with a mellow male dog & we were great pals... so, I may befriend another equally mellow male dog... but I'm also content to be queen of the castle :) I am happy to meet people and I'm respectful of them and their belongings. I like to put on a little show for new people & returning friends - it's quite the schmoozing I do - and it works every time :) They love me up - and I love the love! I'm so soft, it's hard NOT to ... (Read More)want to pet me. I will alert you to strangers at the door, but I'll welcome them openly, if you do the same. I am not a bother & can be left alone in the house, day or night. I never disturb what is not mine. I don't chew, dig or bark excessively. I don't need to be the center of attention, but will always enjoy a belly rub. I don't beg for food from the table - but may watch you like a hawk, in the kitchen... just in case something yummy falls to the floor. I even make the cutest chomping sound (like a bark without the noise) and pitter-pat my paws, when I'm anticipating food or a walk. I won't assume you want me next to you, but usually will jump up or join in, if invited. I can be left alone all day or be part of the party all night - I'm easy to please! I LOVE WALKS!! I get very excited when I know we're going, put on my funny pants, and dance around like it's the best thing to happen to me! I'm easy to walk on a standard harness and will walk one block or ten - I'm just happy to walk. I will thrive in a home where I am walked daily. Other dogs in the neighborhood only excite me if they get too close. Dog parks are not for me. My life before arriving here, was probably very different. Getting the love, attention and respect I now have, was maybe new to me... but I have grown to understand that I am a good girl - worthy of love & respect. I have learned that it feels wonderful to be part of a caring home. I continue to surprise my foster family by learning new things and having grown out of my old shell - I'm goofier & more playful now, than maybe I've ever been :) I'm looking for a home without too many surprises or chaos... somewhere I can be given love & walks (and treats)... somewhere I can stretch out & nap in the sunshine... somewhere I can feel both wanted & respected. I'm just waiting for a place in your heart & home! Adoption fee is $80 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals.     Here's the story of this pretty 'pocket pittie' Princess: While working at a veterinary hospital in Fremont, CA, an amazing lifesaver named Genelle took ownership of a sweet, loving 9 year old female 'pocket' Pitbull mix named Princess. The owners of Princess had brought her in twice for euthanasia; the second time they brought her in with multiple broken teeth as a result of forced crating. Genelle convinced them both visits to give her more time to place Princess in a new home. The family was moving into a residence that did not accept Pit mixes and they no longer had time for her. Finally, in late February, Genelle took ownership of ... (Read More)Princess even though she could not keep her either. Genelle has contacted over three dozen no-kill shelters and rescues, but no one seems to have room. Even the local county shelter is full. Genelle had been boarding Princess at various vet offices using personal funds, which was not sustainable. Princess is now being fostered at Genelle's home, but Princess needs a forever home urgently!! She needs a home that has the time and patience to help re-train her and overcome her newly brought-on separation anxiety (after all this shuffling around). You would be rewarded with an adoring family dog that will love you forever! She has made leaps and bounds while staying with Genelle over the past month and a half. Princess has gone from being a highly anxious dog always on alert to a more relaxed playful kissing machine. Not only is Princess wonderful with children, but she is very energetic and would make an ideal hiking or running buddy. Perhaps she could even be an agility dog because she loves to jump over things. Princess lived with children most of her life who are now 15 months and 11 years old. Ideally, she would be an only dog as she can be temperamental with certain dogs and cats while off leash. She knows and usually obeys basic commands (like come, sit, stay, and shake). Princess is very affectionate and simply loves to be around people. Princess is current on her vaccines, flea & heartworm prevention, and is spayed. Recently, a longtime mass on Princess was diagnosed as a grade I or II tumor and now needs to be removed along with some of her broken teeth in which the roots are now exposed. It's a pricey operation, but Princess is worth saving!! She has a lot of good years left and is an extremely sweet girl. If you would like to meet or adopt Princess and give her a forever home, please contact Genelle today. *If you are able to sponsor Princess to help with her medical costs or any temporary boarding please contact Genelle today!* Genelle can be reached at the following phone and email. My favorite thing to do is walk around holding my stuffed bunny; I love all sorts of squishy, soft toys, which I will proudly show off to anyone and everyone! I am great in the car and love going for rides! In my foster home, I have fully integrated with my dog siblings. Even so, introductions with new dogs may require your assistance. No cats, please. Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Joey! He is an active Boxer mix who is an attention-hog! Joey needs a strong pack leader and obedience training. Joey loves attention from people more than anything in this world. Joey loves to go for walks and would be a great running and hiking companion. He would love to be the only pet in a home, though Joey has learned to be in a pack with other dogs of his size. He does well with other dogs that he knows. Sometimes, Joey may need a couple days of knowing a new dog before he wants to play with them. Once he makes friends, he's a fun playmate! Joey would benefit greatly from obedience training with his new best friend and pack ... (Read More)leader. He knows the command 'Sit' already. With love, time and training, Joey will be an amazing dog! Joey is super sweet and adores people and kids. He loves giving kisses! He latches on very quickly, especially to women, once you let him warm up to you. Joey has a high prey drive and should not be in a home with small dogs, cats or any animals smaller than him. Joey should only be around older kids until he learns manners and patience. Joey has shown jealous tendencies when other dogs or small kids get attention from 'his' humans instead of him. He will try to get in on the love! A strong pack leader and obedience training will greatly benefit Joey and help satisfy his need for attention. Adoption fee is $80 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals.     Yawwwwwn'| oh!... hello there! Pardon me, I was just chillaxing in the sun, which is one of my favourite things to do! Name's Boomer, how do you do? Well it appears you are looking for an awesome pooch, which I just happen to be! Allow me to tell you a bit about myself'| I'm 11 years young, and I have been told I am a handsome fella (I've seen myself in the mirror, gotta admit I agree). I am full of character and affection for my people, and I have a few tricks up my sleeve, such as 'sit' and 'shake.' Not everyone considers 'sit' a trick, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it! For fun, I love swimming and playing in the water, ... (Read More)playing fetch with tennis balls, and going for walks and hikes. Sometimes I forget about my status as a 'senior dog' and if you let me, I will show you my athletic abilities all the live-long-day, but then I'll need to take the entire next day off because my body just doesn't respond to that much activity like it used to. I have some hip and joint problems, but I still need to get out and about a little each day. I can hardly resist chasing and catching bugs, they are just oodles of fun in my books! I am a good guard dog, and I aim to protect my people. I bark at strangers and other dogs I don't know. I'm so unhappy and lonely in boarding right now, and dream daily about a new foster or permanent home to call my own. I deserve a loving family or special someone to help me chill out and relax for the rest of my years, and someone who will appreciate my protective efforts! I have lots of love to give, and can't wait to meet you! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out an online app today! Adoption fee is $80 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals. ARR will also pay for pet insurance premiums for the rest of Boomer's life! He's in very good health, but we know that potential veterinary expenses for seniors can be a concern for some adopters.
